I walk past car fires
that line the streets and our faces
golden in the setting light
riches in the darkest of places
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
Starlight forms a pattern
for spot lit street lights to recede
into their ritualistic voyeurism
watching takes place for seeing
for streets kept clean for the passage
of the economic drum like a cannon
shouting with the beat of persistence
empty but the echo of it's once presence
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
But life thrives at the cracks
on the outskirts of fallout
caught up with the gutter trash
where insect prey not the moral fabric
cut from the clean and sadistic
haute couture dressings that distinguish
privilege on sale for the masses
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
War is peace and peace is time for action
take flight with their wings sewn of passion
seething in displays of their omissions
but they cause
and they pray
and they bend with the light
preaching like the ammo from a cannon
silent and swiftly cut the ledger
laughing at the belly's distention
in the valley of the dolls
in the valley of the dolls
